We're at a very exciting point in our preparations for The Young Americans visit next month. I had a fantastice phone call with Brooke (all the way from sunny california), who is our tour manager for the workshop.
I'm delighted to say that this workshop is now open to all children in Year 2 and above - I'm sure each and every child in our School will remember the fantastic experiences had by all when The Young Americans came in for an afternoon last spring. This workshop is a chance for your child to be fully immersed in The Young American experience over the course of the Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday at the end of this half term. You can then see them perform in the shows on Sunday 11th in our School Hall...this will be something that they talk about for years to come! We are very proud to be the only primary school in the area to have ever hosted The Young Americans.
We still have upto 7 places left - please take the time to look at the original letter sent out which was sent out last half term. We also have some children attending from other primary and secondary schools in the area so, if you have any neighbours or friends who you think would love this opportunity, please feel free to pass the details on to them.
Finally, if your child isn't doing the workshop but you'd like some of the Young American experience, why not come to one of the shows? Tickets will be on sale on the weekend of the performance but I can take advance requests - please get in touch with me if you would like more details. Alternatively, how about being one of our 'Homestay' families. During their time with us, these young adults stay with our families - they need a bed and meals for the duration of their stay (Thursday evening to Monday morning) as well as lifts to and from School each day. They come in pairs and are happy to share a double bed/sofa bed if that is what you have available. Please let me know if you would like more information.
