In this Sunday’s Gospel we listen to the words of Jesus at the Last Supper, Jesus gives his friends, the disciples, a new commandment– they must love one another as Jesus loves them, with whole hearted and unlimited generosity. This is a message our children are very used to hearing as it forms the backbone of our Mission Statement. This new commandment that Jesus gave to his disciples is for all of us too.
A brilliant week with so much to celebrate this week. Two classes are on a school trip today. Year 6 are walking on the local hills to celebrate the end of their assessment week. Year 5 are journeying to Leicester to visit the National Space Centre. Year 1 held their pet show which was great fun and the rest of the school have been working hard in another sunny week!!
Next week is very exciting. On Sunday we have our Second Family Mass at 10am. It will once again be lovely to see many families supporting the Parish of St Paulinus and the Catholic Life of our school.
We also have visitors in our school helping our children be extra creative through the arts. On Thursday we will open the doors from 3-5pm to celebrate art work across the school. I have also been told that the choir may well also perform a song or two.
On Friday 24th May, we will host our Annual May Procession at 10am in Church, All are most welcome to join the celebration. It has become the tradition that a child will be selected from Foundation Stage to crown Mary in Church, and that all children bring in some flowers to adorn Mary to make the Church look magnificent. We then donate these flowers to the local nursing homes within the community. Please remember to send your child in with flowers that day if you can. Also, Friday 24th May it is a no school uniform day and we ask that every child brings in a voluntary donation of £1. This money will be used to help with transport costs across the Guisborough Sports Partnership.
Enjoy the weekend, Mr Geaves.
