“God is full of love: to him be praise forever!” Pope Francis.
This coming Sunday is known as Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord. It is the start of Holy Week. Palms will be handed out in Church in remembrance of the welcome and great praise that the people gave to him when he entered Jerusalem. There are many things for which we can praise God. Praising God brings happiness; it’s what we were made for. Enjoy Palm Sunday and the final Lenten Journey through Holy Week next week.
As we are in School for Holy Week each day there will be a special reflection in the Hall to help the children understand the events of Holy Week. It is the most special and significant week in the Christian Calendar. We have been delighted with the support you have already given to the school through attendance of the various Lenten Class Liturgies and we feel that together we have helped the children prepare for Easter.
This week we have held our Parents Evenings. Once again attendance was very good and hopefully you feel that you are up to date with the information that you need to help your child continue to make progress. Next week, if your child is in Years 1-6, you will also be receiving a short report with the targets for each child in the Summer Term. The purpose of this report is to give you a quick update on what your child will be working on next term. You may have also noticed that 2 Governors were also present in the hall at Parents Evening. I would like to thank Mr Anthony Bass and Mr Frank Campbell for giving up their time to meet with families on both evenings. They were able to give me some useful feedback which will be acted upon.
On Tuesday it is the annual Easter Fair from 3.30-5.00pm. As usual the children will be given some class time to decorate their egg designs. Please can all children bring everything they need on Tuesday and perhaps a few spare boiled eggs just in case! Judging will start at 3pm this year so this will finish close to the start of the Easter Fair. Please be patient whilst the judges make their decisions. As always we need help setting up during the day of the Fair, serving refreshments, running stalls and also tidying away. If you are able to help in anyway, then please contact us through the School Office. If possible we are looking for people to run a stall for around 45 minutes each, so that all helpers get the chance to spend some time with their own children. Please help if you can as we presently do not have enough helpers.
