Lent – Change

Change can be an exciting part of family life. The Season of Lent presents a great             opportunity to examine our conscience– do we need a change of heart, a change of    attitude?

In this Sunday’s Gospel, the fig tree represents God’s people– it represents all of us. We are called to change: to grow and so enrich the world around us– to love as Jesus loved.

One thing we are trying to change and develop is the way that we respond to the ideas that the children have in our school. They really are a tremendous gift to us all and create so many wonderful experiences in our school. With this in mind our wonderful School     Council have been very active in the past couple of days. Yesterday they conducted a litter pick in the local area and we were reminded that we are all called to serve our local communities by making them the beautiful places they should be. As I type this the Hall is a hive of activity with our children raising money for causes that are special to them.

Next Friday, we are supporting the ‘Wear A Hat’ charity day for Brain Tumour Research.      Children are permitted to wear a hat all day and we ask for a voluntary donation of £1. Normal school uniform must be worn.

It is so busy over the next couple of weeks with something happening every single day. Please READ THE NEWSLETTER TO CHECK FOR DATES.

Can I thank all the parents and family members that have managed to attend the  beautiful Stay & Pray sessions during Lent. They have been very special and help our children as we journey towards Easter. Thank you also to the parents who turned up at the Internet Safety Presentation on Wednesday Night. I cannot deny we were a little disappointed with the turnout but Mr Aspin and myself shared the key message of talk to your child about what they do online. A final thank you to Mr Newton for the amazing story chair that he has carved and donated to school for the Foundation Stage Outdoor Area.

Egg Day Competition Rules 2019: this year only 1 egg per design and children must work individually. Start thinking about the eggciting designs for Wednesday 3rd April. For those new to the school children design their own egg design and a small prize is given to the best one from each class at the Easter Fair. Please can we remember to take all egg designs home from the fair or if not attending the next day.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at Mass on Sunday morning.
